Leaman, Edward. (Leeman) 6th Wisconsin, Co E. Edward was a native of the town of Tacheedah, which is located just to North-East of Fond du Lac, WI. Pvt. Leaman enlisted on May 10th, 1861 and served with Company E until his death on the first day of Gettysburg, July 1st, 1861. Edward's last name was listed as "Leeman" in the Wisconsin state roles. Checking the State Archives in Madison revealed that this spelling was used on the hand written roster of "Bragg's Rifles" produced in July of 1861. Edward is buried in the National Cemetery in the Wisconsin plot at Gettysburg PA.
