Brown, Edwin A. Captain. 6th Wisconsin Infantry, Co E Brown was a Fond du Lac attorney who enlisted on May 5th, 1861 along with Edward S. Bragg. Brown assisted Bragg in forming Bragg's rifles which latter became Company E. Edwin was elected 1st Lieutenant and then as Bragg was promoted Major, Brown was made Captain. He was loved and respected by his men. He died early on the morning of September 17th, 1862 outside a little town called Sharpsburg in Maryland and beside a creek named Antietam. He is Buried in Fond du Lac, at the Rienzi cemetery. Fond du Lac County, WI.
